Mild exercise: When you have back pain, the last thing that you may be wanting to do is to exercise. However, certain types of exercise can definitely alleviate certain types of pain. Stretching exercises, such as yoga, can result in less tense back muscles which can then result in less pain. Some types of core exercises can strengthen your back muscles which, again, can result in less pain. But before you embark on any fitness endeavor, you should always discuss your plans with your regular doctor. Although he or she isn't a back specialist, your doctor should be able to tell you whether or not your exercise plan is likely to be effective or not and whether there are any other potential health concerns in regards to the exercise that you plan to do.
